To Ralphie's mother, it's bad taste in bright lights and must be "accidentally" destroyed. But before Mr. Parker buries the pieces of his shattered "major award," it shines out from the house on Cleveland Street with all the goofy warmth and humor of A Christmas Story. And so, to many of us, it means the holidays are here.
