This is an exquisite Antique Meissen blue and white shaped oval porcelain salt cellar with a floral decoration. Markings include the Meissen crossed swords with pommels dating this piece to circa 1800. The base is shaped beautifully, with a lovely scalloped shape. The porcelain is white, with Meissen blue decorations. The piece measures 3 and 1/4 inches long (8 cm), 2 and 1/2 inches high (6 cm), and is almost 1 and 1/2 inches (3 cm) tall. Overall, this piece is in good condition, appropriate to it's age. There are some small chips on the footrim, please see the pictures for details. This antique piece has been in my family for decades; it is ready for someone else to collect and enjoy. This piece is an excellent collectors item due to it's quality and age, and is absolutely functional to add elegance to the dinner table.
