Set of 2 vintage Gold-toned Sea Turtle pins/lapels and/or tie tacks/cufflinks signed "NEMO" on the bottoms of both which is the Hallmark for The Little Nemo Co., a low-cost jewelry manufacturing Co. which operated from 1913-1978 in Rhode Island making mostly art deco style jewelry. Most likely made between the 40s & 50s and sold as a set. Each is a little smaller than a dime. Each has a butterfly clutch finishing that looks more brass than gold-toned like the turtles. The base metal, depending on the manufacturing batch & year, could be either "pot metal" which is a mix of various low-cost metals melted together in a pot. It typically included tin, zinc, or lead. Used mainly in the 1920s-1930s. Or, they could be made from a zinc alloy, iron, or brass. All of which were commonly used for low-cost jewelry during that time period. Base metal is coated a gold- toned plating. Both the turtles and their clutches are not magnetic. All prices are negotiable! All sales are final!
